Road rage claim in Kuala Lumpur: Driver says she was chased and car struck after honk

KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 — A motorist’s account of an alleged road rage incident has gained traction on social media after she claimed her vehicle was struck by another driver following a brief warning honk.

According to the New Straits Times, the incident was shared on Threads by a user identified as @whoisfaanyway, who alleged that a pickup truck driver entered her lane without noticing her vehicle.

The user said she sounded her horn to alert the driver after noticing the vehicle moving into her lane.

“I encountered a road bully today. I honked to alert him as he was coming into my lane. Then he chased me, cut me again and hit my car,” she wrote.

The post was accompanied by photos and video footage that the user claimed showed the aftermath of the incident.

She also alleged that the pickup truck driver made an obscene gesture after she overtook the vehicle.

The incident has prompted discussion online about aggressive driving and road safety, with many social media users expressing concern over the alleged behaviour.

One commenter wrote: “Everyone is sensitive about being honked at, even when they are in the wrong. The horn is a safety device, not a trigger for anger.”

Another user urged the motorist to lodge a police report and submit the video as evidence, adding that making an obscene gesture could constitute an offence.
